The Family Outreach Program includes both monthly parent support group meetings as well as quarterly evening parent education meetings. Monthly parent support group meetings are scheduled regularly in the late afternoon for one hour. Focus topics can include: child rearing practices, balancing school, work and family, children’s growth and development, guidance, stress management, having fun with your children, transition to Kindergarten, and family issues. Childcare (for children 2 years and older) is provided for families enrolled in the program. Infants are welcome to come with their parent.
Evening Parent Education Meetings are held in Fall and Spring quarters and include a free dinner for families attending. Focus topics can include: guidance and discipline, Transition to Kindergarten panel, readiness and academics, importance of play, etc. These meetings are typically more than an hour. Childcare is provided, following the dinner, for children 2 years and older. Infants are welcome to attend the meeting with their parents.
