My interest for working in the field of early childhood education began when I volunteered to be a part of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program as a high school student in Watts, a small neighborhood in southern Los Angeles. After moving to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB in 2008, I knew I wanted to do something similar to what I had done before. I heard about OFCC and applied immediately! I worked as a teacher's assistant for about five years while working towards my BA. I then went to Santa Barbara City College to obtain early childhood education units so that I could acquire my Teaching Permit. I officially became a teacher at OFCC in the fall of 2015.

I love coming into the center every morning with a feeling of excitement over what the children will be experiencing that day- something that tells me working in this field is the right choice for me! A child's natural wonder and overall curiosity over the world around them is something I admire and seek to develop. I also highly value the relationships that are being made and the power to learn from one another.

Outside of OFCC, I enjoy many hobbies- some of which are playing soccer, cooking, working on visual arts, bicycling, and geocaching!
