I was born and raised in beautiful Santa Barbara. I am 31 years old and married to my high school sweetheart. Growing up, I was involved with a local dance studio for 20 years studying and performing flamenco, tap, hip-hop, and ballet. I assisted my dance director with teaching young students and that is where I discovered my passion and joy in working with young children. I began studying Early Childhood Education and working in the field as I attended Santa Barbara City College in 2010. I transferred to San Diego State University where I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Child and Family Development in 2015. Through my education, I had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience by volunteering and working in various classroom settings from infants to school-aged children in San Diego County. Over the last several years, I have worked as a substitute teacher in several children’s centers working with infants and toddlers, and as a nanny in Santa Barbara. During my leisure time, I love spending my time in the outdoors and being active. I enjoy working out, hiking, camping, backpacking trips with my husband, traveling to different countries, the beach, refurbishing old furniture and learning how to sew. I am extremely excited for this opportunity to work at UCSB Children’s Center and be able to build relationship with such wonderful children, families, and staff.
